Burgers and Whoppers – 8/22 Clubhouse – 7:30 pm

This Tuesday 8/22 at 7:30 pm we will meet, eat, and share Whopper stories.

Fishing has been tough but the SDA tough get going and this week has been a great week.

Burgers, beans, and slaw will be the dinner fare $10.00 Arrive early (7:00) and help cook….

We will also discuss the Rivera Beach Offshore trip in September with Reel Intense fishing.

Mangrove Snapper – Clubhouse Meeting & Dinner – Aug 8

Tuesday evening August 8, 7:30, we will meet back at the clubhouse.

Captain Weston suggested we wait until September for a Dophin trip, and we agreed.

It will be cooler and there will be more mature dolphin at that time.

So August 12 for our outing we are going to go looking for Snapper.

The discussion will be what is the best location for catching Snapper?

Inshore Mangrove Snapper can be found just about anywhere there is structure. They get their name from their preference to live around mangrove shorelines early on in life, but these are some other places that they are frequently found:

Beach Piers
Inlets
Bridges and Docks
Rock Piles / Oyster Beds
Deep holes

Calling our offshore fishing enthusiasts! Are you ready to reel in some incredible memories on the water? We’re trying to organize a fishing trip with Reel Intense Fishing that promises an exhilarating experience for all!

We have two potential weekends for the trip.  We will decide during the Zoom call which date to choose.

Friday or Saturday, August 1 or 2.
Or, the following week, August 8 or 9.

🎙️ Captain Weston Russell’s Zoom Talk:
To get you all pumped up and informed about this exciting adventure, Captain Weston Russell himself will be our Zoom talk guest on Tuesday evening, July 25, at 7:30 pm. He will walk us through all the fantastic opportunities Reel Intense Fishing offers. This will be the perfect chance for you to learn about the trip details and determine if it’s the right fit for you.

🚤 Trip Details:
He has two boats. Each boat will accommodate a maximum of 6 people, ensuring a personalized and enjoyable experience for all participants. The pricing will be a flat rate for the boat, and we kindly ask you to show your appreciation to the hardworking crew with a tip.

🏨 Accommodations:
To kickstart our fishing adventure with full energy, we’ll head up to Rivera Beach the night before and stay at the comfortable Travel Inn or Motel 6.  We will rest well and get ready for an early morning departure to the Dock.

⛵ Where to Meet:
The New Port Cove Marine Center, located off the intercoastal, is where our boat will be docked. This fantastic location offers breathtaking views and grants access to prime fishing spots including dolphin!

SDA – 6/27/23 – Guest Ryan Alonso

Tomorrow evening we have Ryan sharing about fishing Flamingo and his personal experiences.   I used to be told it’s time-on-the-water and Ryan puts his time in.

He fishes a Gheenoe and also has a skiff.  Skinny water, running water, edges, wind direction, tide,  temperature, rain, sun and more, he sees them all.

We will do this in a Fireside chat and have dinner too.

Dinner will be Bratwurst, with German potato salad and Apple slices, $10.00

ALSO, David is having July 4th picnic at his house. This will be our first July meeting.

It will start at 4:00 pm and be a pool party with BBQ Brisket.  You will need to let him know so he can plan on how much food to have.

We will discuss more at the meeting.

SDA at clubhouse Redfish and dinner

The series continues – this meeting is Redfish.

Come and share your experience about how, where, and when to catch Reds within 100 miles of our location.

Remember you can go back to the same secret spot 1000 times and the fish will not be there.

We need to talk about conditions, style, and strategy – serious valuable stuff.

Bring tackle, rods, and description of your rigging to show.

I will try to capture the experience for YouTube. Many should be interesed.

Don’t be shy, share with us.

Dinner will be East Carolina BBQ with Cole Slaw and Rice. $10.00

David is working on a plan to have a July 4th picnic at his house on the 4th. I will send email with details and it will require a real RSVP if you plan on attending. Rumor he is doing Brisquet and also Ribs.

Calling all anglers!

Please join us for the 14th Annual St. John Neumann Catholic School Fishing Tournament to be held on Saturday April 29, 2023, followed by the Hook, Dock & Rock Party on Saturday, May 20, 2023. This annual community-based event has something for everyone.

The fishing competition will take place on Saturday, April 29th. Weigh in at Matheson Hammocks Marina while surrounded by music, drinks and small bites. We hope tight lines guide you as you battle the deep sea to bring the biggest catch of the day!

For our little ones, we will have the Little Anglers Freshwater Fishing Tournament on Saturday, May 20th. Grab your rod and head to the nearest lake or canal. Texts pictures of your catch to be eligible for a cash prize. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded at the Hook, Dock, & Rock Party.

Fireside Chat with Willy – Tuesday April 11, 7:30

We will have another Fireside Chat with Willy Schaugg Tuesday April 11, 7:30 at the clubhouse.

Willy has been catching sailfish off of Key Biscayne and he will share the experience with us.

First with Capt Mike Puller and has Lisa out of Crandon Marina

Then his first own sailfish today on his own boat. 7ft and 45 pounds on 20 mono and 40 leader- 5 circle hook – 135 ft depth near Long Reef

Come listen to the whole story with details.

We will use Henry’s grill to grill burgers with cheese and onions. There will also be Pinto beans to match. $10

Someone can bring a salad and desert.

Fireplace Chat and Wings

Lucas and two of his friends booked C.A. Richardson for a 3 day trip at Mosquito Lagoon.

They caught some huge fish.

Lucas will give us a fireside chat about the fun and experience they had.

What a wonderful opportunity.

We will have wings, cole slaw, and chips for dinner at the clubhouse.

Come early if you can and help with the cooking.
